The Challenge
A Canadian healthcare consulting firm relied on timely, accurate analytics to support project delivery, contractor utilization, and forecasting across its national client base. However, its existing Power BI desktop solution—fed by manual ServiceNow extracts—struggled to keep pace with the firm’s growing data needs.
Manual uploads created inefficiencies, introduced the risk of error, and delayed access to critical workforce insights. The dashboard lacked forecasting logic, modern KPI calculations, and the usability required by consultants and leadership teams. Without automation or a scalable architecture, the firm risked inconsistent reporting and limited visibility into its operational performance.

We built a new connector to ingest ServiceNow data directly into a Microsoft Fabric data lake in Parquet format, eliminating manual uploads and increasing reliability.
The semantic layer in Power BI was redesigned to support forecasting logic, KPIs, and expanded metrics needed for workforce and project planning.
We collaborated closely with stakeholders to validate accuracy, usability, and alignment to business requirements for QA & UX validation.
